تأسيس نادي الإتحاد

عقد مجموعة من أعيان مدينة جدة اجتماعاً في غرفة اللاسلكي الشهيرة بالقرب من المنطقة التاريخية بمدينة جدة للنظر في أمر تأسيس نادٍ جديد، وضم الاجتماع كلاً من: حمزة فتيحي، عبدالعزيز جميل، عبداللطيف لنجاوي، عبدالله بن زقر، صالح سلامة، عبدالرزاق عجلان، عبداللطيف جميل، إسماعيل زهران، علي يماني، عثمان باناجه، أحمد أبوطالب، علي سلطان، عباس حلواني، وعبدالصمد نجيب السعدي. وتم الإجماع والاتفاق على اختيار اسم (الاتحاد) للنادي، وكذلك تم بعد ذلك اختيار رئيس النادي وهو علي سلطان، وشعاره باللونين (الأصفر والأسود). واستقر الرأي مع ذلك أن يعتمد تاريخ تأسيس نادي الاتحاد 26 ديسمبر 1927م.
